Fed: New Years Eve to spark 55,000 messages a minute
Mobile phone services are expected to be stretched to the limit tonight .. with the
count-down to midnight sparking a surge in text messages.
Telstra predicts more than 53 million will be sent.
Spokesman JEREMY MITCHELL says his company expects about 55 thousand text messages
a minute between 11 pm and midnight tonight.
